Course Description

The ACP Exam Prep course provides an in-depth overview of RMC’s PMI-ACP Exam Prep, which reinforces a robust working knowledge of Agile principles & mindset in preparation to sit for the Agile Certified Practitioner exam. The course gives an overview of exam guidelines and highlights the core modules including Value Driven Delivery, Adaptive Planning and Continuous Improvement. 

Course Content

INTRODUCTION TO ACP EXAM 

  • Overview of the requirements and layout of the PMI-ACP exam content
  • Provide background of the exam questions (via practice exams & study strategy) 

AGILE PRINCIPLES & MINDSET

  • In-depth review of the N=4 values and N=12 principles from the AGILE Manifesto 
  • In-depth review of empirical methods and the Agile value prop of adaptability 

VALUE DRIVEN DELIVERY

  • Mechanics of multiple approaches such as:  SCRUM, XP, Kanban, FDD, DSDM, Crystal 
  • Review the measurements of ROI, MVP/MMF, WIP and the unique principles per approach

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

  • Framework of communication methods & tools and managing changing expectations

TEAM PERFORMANCE

  • Review cross-functional, self-organizing structure of Agile teams
  • Review of tools & techniques to maximize performance

ADAPTIVE PLANNING

  • Review common practices that include:  Timeboxing, Retrospectives, Sprints, Backlogs, Daily stand-ups, Demo/Reviews, Burn charts, Velocity, and Story points/User stories

PROBLEM RESOLUTION & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Review fail/success modes including risk adjustments
  • Review 3P’s, kaizen principle and the PDCA/PDEL models 

EXAM DAY

  • Wrap-up to confirm an exam study strategy
  • Confirm logistics of exam day
