Course Description

The course will provide in-depth discussion about modifications that can be constructed, installed, or implemented to enhance an individual's safety and function in the home environment. It will build upon the basic understanding course by providing instruction on identifying specific modifications for common problem areas in the home. This course will provide an overview of functional barriers commonly experienced in homes, legal and policy issues that affect provision of services, and AT and universal design strategies to improve performance of daily activities. The course will provide resources for assessing, identifying and implementing modification needs.

Attendees will each receive a handbook of slides, hard-copy handouts, and resources for accommodations, accessible /universal design and assistive technology.
