Course Description
This course is divided into eleven modules and a final examination and provides a Certificate of Proficiency in Web Accessibility from CATEA upon completion. Each module discusses a specific facet of the accessibility problem and ends with a short test covering the material just learned. Modules are intended to be sequential, and must be completed in order. Progress to further sections of the course is restricted until the test at the end of the current module is successfully completed.
Once registered, students will have access to the course material for a period of 60 days. A Certificate of Proficiency in Web Accessibility is provided to each student who successfully completes the course in that time.
Learning Objectives
Each module is constructed around a specific facet of the accessibility problem and forms a single learning objective. The modules are:
- Course Instructions (10 minutes)
- Standards & Guidelines (30 minutes)
- Page Layout (45 minutes)
- Images (45 minutes)
- Navigation & Links (60 minutes)
- Written Content (45 minutes)
- Dynamic Content (30 minutes)

Course Agenda
Each module is completed independently by the student, who then takes a quiz. Passing each quiz allows access to subsequent modules. At the end of all the modules is a final exam, the result of which determines if a student passes the course. While there is no instructor, the participant can go back and review any previous module whenever they wish. Alternatively, they may contact a site administrator with more specific questions via email.
Requirements
The student will require a computer with an internet connection.
Registrant Accounts
Registrants are provided with a login by email from CATEA upon payment and registration. Each participant then secures their account with a password upon following the link provided in the email.
Course Materials
Each module is found on the course website. All material necessary to complete the course is found within the modules, which can be reviewed at any time after completion.
