Course Description
Gain a working knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, the communications standard used by the Air Force, Navy, Army, NASA, industry, and other high reliability communication users. Discover what you need to know to effectively use this communications standard. Understand and apply five rules that help ensure your bus design
operates efficiently.

Course Materials
Participants receive a CD-ROM and a class notebook with all course presentations.
Security Requirements
Participants must be employees of either U.S. Government agencies or their contractors as well as be U.S. citizens. To meet this requirement, you must submit the Access Eligibility Form.
Instructors
Byron Coker, Georgia Tech Research Institute principal research engineer, develops embedded microprocessor, communications, and digital hardware for electronic warfare systems. He has 20-plus years experience with developing hardware for electronic warfare systems and has participated on hardware and integration development efforts for radar systems, radar warning receivers systems, jammer systems, and mission computer systems. At GTRI, he is manager of Washington operations for the Air National Guard Program Office.
Adam McCorkle, Georgia Tech Research Institute research engineer, leads efforts to integrate electronic warfare systems on F-16 and other high performance aircraft. He is the program manager for FMS applications involving the ALQ-213 countermeasure set.
