Course Description
The course will provide an in-depth examination of workplace accommodation and home modification processes that address the needs of people with functional limitations. The course will focus on describing and implementing the assessment process, including the analysis of clients, environmental factors and identification of barriers. The course will also review assessment products across a broad range of costs and technology levels, focusing on integrating accommodation examples from previous core courses into the assessment process. Multiple case studies will provide students with real world examples of the methods of assessment and types of accommodation used to identify and overcome barriers to access. Students will learn the importance of addressing environmental factors, universal design, compensatory strategies, and common technologies.

- The assessment process, including job analysis and task analysis
- Group activity - Monk (task analysis)
- Group activity - (Reverse) Clue (pulling it all together)
- Wrap up discussion and test
Course Materials
Attendees will each receive a handbook of slides, hard-copy handouts, resources for accommodations, accessible / universal design and assistive technology.
