Course Description

Explore maintenance of map data and system health on FalconView based systems. The recent growth in available geospatial data requires improved CONOPS for handing large data stores. Proper system maintenance can avoid many problems.

Course Materials

Participants receive copies of course materials, FalconView API, documentation, and labs.

Participants should bring Portable Flight Planning System (PFPS)/FalconView installed on a laptop. Non-Department of Defense students can obtain a commercial release of FalconView through Georgia Tech Technology Licensing. Note: Route planning is not included in the commercial version). Developers need laptops with their preferred development environment installed.

Microsoft VS2005 will be used during the course for examples. Commonly supported languages are C++, C# .Net, VB, and VB .Net via COM and .Net interfaces.

Security Requirements

Participants must be employees of either U.S. Government agencies or their contractors as well as be U.S. citizens. To meet this requirement, you must submit the Access Eligibility Form.

Prerequisites

Attendees should take Introduction to FalconView: Basic Operations before FalconView Systems Administration OR have a thorough understanding of the FalconView user interface (UI), preference controls, supported tools, and available data sets.

Instructor

Daniel Longhurst is a Senior Developer in the FalconView and JMPS mission planing programs joining the team in 2000. Daniel previously taught computer programing at the MS and BS level at Southern Polytechnic State University and Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
