Course Description
Over the last two decades, companies have done a great job of improving profitability through cost-cutting and efficiency gains. With little room left to cut, companies are now seeking to boost profitability by improving the top line through organic growth. This workshop focuses on the two key drivers of organic growth: innovation and new product development. Both of these are core areas of expertise at Georgia Tech, and our professors will bring to the program their extensive experience in researching, teaching, and consulting on innovation and new product development. Participants will develop an understanding of what leaders need to do in order to stimulate and develop new ideas into innovations and new products.
Who Should Attend
The intended audience is middle to senior R&D, and Product Development (PD) Management: R&D engineers/managers, product development associates/specialists, senior project managers of product development projects (not necessarily technical specialists, they could very well come from the marketing function), and senior functional managers (PD, Marketing, R&D) who oversee/staff product development teams.
The program aims to inform about basic principles of the planning and execution phases of product development projects with an emphasis on (i) managing the risk during the PD process and (ii) forming the right organizational capabilities to support an effective PR process.
