Course Description
Master fundamental concepts of electromagnetic compatibility/interference or EMC/EMI. Examine various
electromagnetic (EM) environments. Learn the requirements that commercial and military electronic systems must meet. Explore unconventional high power EM threats, including nuclear electromagnetic pulse and high power microwave weapons. Master techniques that can be used to protect systems against these threats.
Who Should Attend
- Engineers and managers in commercial or military electronic system design, development, analysis, and test & evaluation
How You Will Benefit
- Know military and commercial EMI/EMC requirements
- Master EMC measurement, modeling, and analysis techniques
- Analyze potential EMI problems by identifying the source, the receptor, and the coupling path
- Harden electronic systems using the appropriate EMC protection technique(s), including grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and printed circuit board design
- Calculate electromagnetic propagation
What You Will Cover
- EMI/EMC Concepts, Definitions, and Requirements
- EMC Methodology, Environments, and Measurements
- EMC Modeling and Analysis
- EM Propagation and Crosstalk
- EM Hardening Techniques
- Unconventional High Power Electromagnetic Threats
Course Materials
The course fee includes all classroom materials, a CD-ROM, and color hard copies of course slides.
Certificate
This course is an elective for the Antenna Engineering Certificate.
The Instructors
